Between Vidigueira and Cuba, in the Lower Alentejo region, Herdade do Rocim has approximately 70 hectares of vineyards, 53 of which are planted with red grape varieties and the remaining 17 with white grape varieties. Characterized by its clay-loam and sandy soils, Herdade do Rocim focuses on producing high-quality grapes.
Adega do Rocim, a structuring element of the project, combines wine production with the aesthetic quality of its architecture, functioning as a marketing and promotional tool that enhances the region, and is currently launching new projects with the expansion of the business to other wine-growing areas.
Soil: Low productivity, sandy-loam soils of granitic origin. Great soil potential for vine cultivation and for producing excellent wines.
Climate: Typically Mediterranean, in the Vidigueira wine sub-region where the climatic conditions are the most temperate in the Alentejo, providing an optimal microclimate for the production of high-quality wines.
Grape varieties: Antão Vaz. The Antão Vaz variety is found in an old vineyard, in a plot with a slight east-facing exposure.

Exam Notes
Citrine color, aromas of pronounced minerality with hints of flint.
Full-bodied on the palate, with excellent acidity providing intense freshness; significant unctuousness and a long, structured finish.
Winemaking: Hand-harvested in 12 kg boxes during the early morning of the 17th.
August 2023. After a 24-hour period of cold maceration on the skins, fermentation begins.
It was carried out in 500 L French oak barrels and in a cement tank, for a
a period of 15 days at a controlled temperature. At the end of fermentation the wine was
subjected to daily battonage.
Internship: Aged in cement vats and French oak barrels for a period of nine months.
