Both wines – one Touriga Nacional and the other Touriga Franca – originate from opposite ends of the Quinta da Leda estate, each showcasing the best qualities of these two varieties. The Touriga Nacional is a compendium of elegance, harmony, and complexity, while the Touriga Franca highlights the grape's pronounced structure and enormous aromatic intensity. The wines aged in French oak barrels for approximately 17 months and were bottled in May 2021.

Tasting Notes for Touriga Franca
"I would like to highlight the wild fruit, such as blackberry and currant, all with hints of spice. On the palate, it has excellent volume, but what surprised me most was its elegance and acidity, the tannins present but well-tamed. Aromatically, it confirms on the palate what we sensed on the nose."

Tasting Notes for Touriga Nacional
"I want to highlight the aromas of ripe fruit, floral notes, and some hints of menthol. On the palate, the wood is very well integrated, well balanced with the presence of tannins and acidity. We can drink it now, but it has everything to evolve very well. I would drink it with octopus à lagareiro."

Conservation: Due to its characteristics, it can be consumed immediately, although it benefits from bottle aging of 3 to 5 years, reaching its peak around 10 years of age, while remaining in full drinking condition for about 20 years.
Service: Up to the second year, it doesn't require any special care; however, after that date, it is recommended that the bottle be placed 'upright' the day before and decanted before consumption. Serve between 16ºC-18ºC.
Winemaking: Vinified at the Quinta da Leda winery, from grapes sourced from existing plots on the estate that exhibit vigorous ripeness, leading to higher aromatic and polyphenolic concentrations. After total destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes are transferred to stainless steel tanks or lagares (traditional stone troughs), where maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place. Maceration is adapted to each grape variety, using temperature control and pump-overs according to the qualitative characteristics of each one.
Internship: Following the finishing fermentation, the wine matures in French oak barrels (50% new and 50% used) for approximately 18 months. The final blend is created based on the selection resulting from numerous organoleptic tests and analyses carried out during this period. To preserve the highest quality, it undergoes only a light filtration before bottling. As it is not cold-stabilized, the formation of sediment during bottle aging is natural.
