Quinta da Pacheca, one of the best-known estates in the Douro Valley, stands out for being one of the first to bottle wines under its own brand.

The name of this Quinta (estate) has been referenced since April 17, 1738, when a dated document first mentions the Quinta “da Pacheca,” as its owner was Dona Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that Dom José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to develop his growing interest in oenology, buying the property with the aim of dedicating himself to wine production.

Today, a century later, the new generation of Serpa Pimentel family members takes over the management of the Quinta: Maria, Catarina, and José are the young faces of this distinctly family-run business.

Exam Notes

Pacheca Superior Branco has a complex aroma, with some notes of tropical fruit such as pineapple and passion fruit, and toasted notes imparted by the barrel. On the palate, it is marked by exotic fruit enveloped in notes of toasted wood, giving it a rich body and a long, persistent finish. Contains sulfites.
